Practicus AI is now available on AWS GovCloud (US)

We are pleased to announce that Practicus AI is now available on AWS GovCloud (US) marketplace for Pay-as-you-go hourly (PAYG), and Enterprise (BYOL) license types, and for both CPUs, and accelerated GPUs.

What is AWS GovCloud (US)?

AWS GovCloud (US) gives government customers and their partners the flexibility to architect secure cloud solutions that comply with the FedRAMP High baseline; the DOJ’s Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Security Policy; U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Department of Defense (DoD) Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) for Impact Levels 2, 4 and 5; FIPS 140-2; IRS-1075; and other compliance regimes.

Only US citizens on US soil have access to the Practicus AI AWS GovCloud (US) resources, for both AWS and Practicus AI employees.

How to get started

Step 1: If you believe your US government organization satisfies the AWS GovCloud (US) requirements, please visit AWS GovCloud (US) getting started guide to apply for clearance.

Step2: Add your AWS GovCloud (US) enabled user credentials to the Practicus AI app.

You can add multiple AWS credentials to the Practicus AI app, with or without GovCloud access. Start Practicus AI app, go to settings, and then select  “(+) Add New” under AWS user config menu. And then enter your AWS user credentials like the below:

Security improvement options:

If your current AWS IAM user has administrative privileges, we strongly recommend you to select the “Create a new and minimum privileged AWS user” check box for improved security. Practicus AI app will create a least privileged AWS user for you.  You can of course create such an AWS user manually as well.

Your AWS account can also have single sign on (SSO), ideally with multi factor authentication (MFA) configured. In this case, Practicus AI app will utilize OS level AWS CLI SSO profile configuration, avoiding additional setup. All you have to do is: open app settings > add aws user > and select one of the detected AWS CLI profiles on your computer. This way, you can skip entering access / secret keys manually and further improve security.

Important security notes:

Practicus AI cloud nodes run fully isolated in your AWS account and in your VPC, for AWS GovCloud or not.

Practicus AI app will only use your AWS credentials to connect to AWS APIs (boto3). Your credentials are not shared, or stored anywhere other than your computer.

You can also run Practicus AI app in a VPN, and your Practicus AI cloud nodes can be created inside a VPC without a public DNS address. This way, your users computer-to-cloud network traffic can run isolated from the internet

Please contact us to discuss and learn more about security and compliance.

Step3: Pick either AWS GovCloud (US) East or West regions, and then click the launch button.

Step 4: Choose the “instant cloud capacity” you need. These are “no management needed”, “use them, once you’re done, you can terminate them” type instances (aka ephemeral design).

Congrats, you’re done and can start building AutoML models, analyze and prepare data interactively, and get  high performance AI at your fingertips.

We would like to remind you that you will not have to configure Practicus AI cloud or app elements. Everything is pre-configured and ready to run.

Please feel free to download Practicus AI app right away to get started, and please let us know if you face any issues or request new features.

Enjoy!
